I love this place for High Tea or just a quick cuppa and a snack (all I had time for on my latest visit ! It is so pretty. They have an excellent selection of fine teas, including some special and exclusive blends. Their food is sublime. I usually enjoy their sweet scone with cream and jam. Late in the afternoon, they had no more. But my server suggested a cheese scone, which came warmed and was large and heart shaped! It was delicious.My only (mild criticism is that it can be quite noisy when the tearoom is full or if there are a few large groups. If more was to be done (e.g., with wall coverings? to absorb sound, it would be absolutely perfect.Vegetarian options: A great place to treat your vegetarian friends. Several friends hosted a baby shower here dévoueras ago for one of ours!Kid friendliness: Took my grand nieces here years ago and they LOVED it!
Unfortunately for some reason this time we were ignored quite a lot. In the past the service was very accessible but this time we had two small hungry children.We ordered tho teas, a scone, a slice of cake and house soup.These should have been fairly easily as no prep is needed. The tea was mostly finished by the time the cake and scone arrived. We had to ask twice two or three times for the food and the check.It was puzzling to me as many others came, were served and left while we waited with hungry children.
The Secret Garden is a home away from home for me. The staff are always so friendly, the food is delicious and the decor is wonderful! The Secret Garden Salad and Creamy Earl Grey Tea is a staple order for me and I love taking visitors to the city here. If you are looking for a special place for lunch or to spend time with friends, the Secret Garden will not disappoint!
