This was truly a chance discovery. We chose a walk from Portel des Corbieres, and simply consulted TripAdvisor to select the best of the four restaurants in a "well-stocked" town. We were not disappointed. There are only four tables on the small outdoor terrace but we secured one of them on a weekday lunchtime. The chef/proprietor could not have been more charming. The cuisine is a genuine "fusion" of French and Asian cooking. We started with moules (mussels), delicious. We then each had different main courses, one a salmi of guinea fowl, and the other a choice steak. The vegetable accompaniment for each main course was the same: thin strips of vegetable grown in their own vegetable garden marinated in their secret dressing, the dominant feature of which is the ginger. For dessert, one of us had a creme brulee with a difference (a hint of mint) and the other "pain perdu" a delicious bread-based pudding. We will be hurrying back for more!

We were fortunate enough to be recommended this restaurant by a person in the know. It is slightly off the beaten track but on a quiet village street in Portel des corbieres, which already is gaining a culinary reputation through its over good restaurants. However i would say that this place has stepped things up, with it's open kitchen, numerous chefs, and asian influenced menu. Lionel the chief takes time to make sure everything was satisfactorily to our requirements and the menu is pitched at an affordable level at 22 euros for 2 courses. A lot of time has been devoted to this establishment both inside and out and is a superb new addition to the area.

This sleepy village boasts an imaginative restaurant run by a very experienced chef Lionel, who personally sources and or grows the food he cooks. No reaching into the freezer here. Excellent value for money, three courses for 22 Euros. The selection of dishes is astonishing and each is beautifully presented, imaginative and colourful. Food is cooked to perfection and the service is welcoming. The desert menu is too good to be true so leave space if you enjoy a starter of stuffed moules, followed by lamb or duck cooked to perfection and apricots served on rhubarb delicately marinated in liquorice. All to be followed by a serious nap.

Visited on a Friday lunch, didn't book due to time of year, but restaurant doing brisk business, after eating we could understand why. Excellent value and excellent food. The menu was unusual in they it had a strong Asian/Thai influence, particularly the consommé - which my wife considered one the best starter dishes ever. I had a Côte de veau which despite its size (big) cooked beautifully. The service was excellent, friendly and lighthearted but attentive. A small but nice wine selection. Perhaps the only course which was good but not excellent was the dessert. Well worth a visit if in the area
