The restaurant is well located. If you are lucky you will have a perfect view over the lake. Unfortunately, we were placed on the other side and just had half of it, despite what the waiter promised on the phone when booking the table... As the speciality of the restaurant are the perch fillets with 4 different sauces, we ordered this dish. No disappointment at all regarding the food : the fish fillets were tender and well spiced while the variety of the sauces delighted us. However the service was a bit chaotic and we waited a long time before being finally served. It was on a Sunday and the restaurant was full of guests for lunch. Rates are are a bit too high though : CHF 42 per person for the perch fillets only... And we have to complain about the toilets as they were very smelly and not well maintained. A great thing to do in summer is to swim in the lake near the restaurant before eating in it. From the botanical garden, just pass through the underground path and walk about 5 minutes along the very noisy and crowded road...So, the place is to be recommended in summer, even just for a swim in front of the restaurant. But if you want to eat in it, try to book well in advance as seats are clearly limited. Mediterranean food such as gambas, pasta and pizzas is also available.
I come to the Plage du Reposoir regularly for drinkies with friends at the Buvette, which is lovely. The location on the lakeside gives it a "holiday" touch (motto: "A partir d'ici, vous êtes en vacances"). I tried the Restaurant this time with friends, and we were very disappointed. The entrées were either bland, too salty, or just inedible (roastbeef served with this cheap sticky chili sauce you buy in supermarkets).I will stick to the Buvette, which serves delicious snacks!
Restaurant is outside of the city centre, overlooking the lake. Outdoor dining on the patio with great view of the mountains and lake. However the food is very average, steak was good but sides not so much. Service was just ok. They do not take credit cards.
Place is good! But few things need to be updated : - Cash only???!!! Wtf! NO DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD. Tired of this... - services need to be better Ottherwise its a great place to eat and enjoy the day.
