My husband and I were on holiday in Geneva and the receptionist in our hotel recommended Restaurant Lamartine. I definitely recommend this local little restaurant. I had the salad Nicoise for starter, which was delicious. The dressing was so good. I wish I had the recipe. We both had the grilled prawns for our main course, which were on the menu as a starter. There was no problem having them as a main course. The prawns were absolutely amazing. The nicest I’ve ever eaten. Again the light sauce was just fab with lovely bread to mop it up. The wine was also great, which was a lovely rioja the waiter recommended. Overall, fantastic fresh food and lovely atmosphere.
This restauarant was highly reccommned by our hotel and I have to agree it was a really authentic, local restaurant with incredible food. The service was a bit slow but it was Saturday night and we had no reservation. They very kindly accommodated us (after a badly delayed flight and gave us salads to keep us going in the meantime. They were warm and wonderful, with the most amazing food! Definitely go and have a brilliant time! : They flambé food in the main restaurant which was terrific fun and gave it a real sense of food theatre old skool stylee. Absolutely loved it.
Comfortable ambience where some food is cooked in the middle of the restaurant. My wife's beef steak with butter sauce and herbs was delicious. I liked the perch, but it was a little cooked. (French friends were better than McDonalds! There are no English speakers, but we were able to fake it thanks to Google Translator.
We loved this place, enjoyed the high-quality kitchen outside. seemed like most diners here regularly, I would also be if that was in my neighborhood. Excellent steaks, excellent service and fun menu. Will be back.
