River Street Deli

September 2022: We're back again! This time we came as soon as they opened. The specials of the day were a Cuban sandwich and Reuben sandwich we bought one of each and loved them both. Bruce and River Street Deli remain a must for us when we visitChattanooga. September 2021: This place is awesome. Bruce is such a likeable guy, it makes it hard not to order whatever herecommends. We ordered a wrap and a sandwich, both were filling and delicious great bang for your buck. Feels like a NY styledeli in all the right ways. Will 100% be going back.

If you are looking for real authentic food from New York Bronx this is the place to come. The Rubin sandwich is the real deal and owner has the personality too. He might seem rough around the edges but nice as can be once you get to know him. I had theegg salad sandwich this time with hummus. They do have gluten free bread and options to for celiac disease. I would highlyrecommend experiencing this restaurant if your visiting or along time local. Tell them I sent you.

Chattanooga native here! If you are looking for the best food, friendliest staff, and most hospitable owner you?ve found it! Try the muffuletta and black bean soup. The house made dressing is EVERYTHING! I couldn?t pinpoint what herbs were in the soup butit was perfection. I?m convinced this sandwich can heal your soul. Also, make sure to touch the little wooden cars when youorder for good luck. Someone really cool made them ????!

Mixed review. It is a bit of a dive down in the basement with a low ceiling, but the staff was friendly and personable and the owner seems like he cares.
