We arrived well in advance of our Gouffre de Padirac prebooked ticket time so decided to find some lunch.We were probably pre-warned what to expect by the numerous laminated menus which showed photos of the meals - fine if you were hungry but nothing especially tempting. The staff, however, were friendly and hard-working. Uninspired by the menu (mostly served with fries), two of our party elected not to eat at all, settling for a soft drink (they are very overpriced). The rest of us ordered main meals and they were OK but nothing to rave about. This was such a contrast to all of our other meals this holiday that it came as quite a shock. The prices were significantly higher than we paid for far better meals elsewhere (also tourist locations so this is no excuse).Ketchup was not available at the tables, customers had to take their plates of food to a central "sauce station" with massive sauce bottles (there was no alternative such as little pots to take back to the table). The colourful laminated overpriced menus seemed very un-French. The toilet facilities were insufficient for the size of the restaurant and the queue was always long. These factors are what gave it a motorway services feel.We would definitely bring a picnic next time as there is a lovely garden opposite the Gouffre de Padirac.
I was not expecting much if anything from a restaurant catering to tourist crowds visiting the Cave, but my lunch was incredible. Perfectly prepared fresh trout, fresh salad and fries. I wish I could return!
Probably the worst place I have visited in France..........ever. The service was non existing and the food tasteless. Definitely not worth a visit.
Went there Foa chicken sandwich (plain) No mayo no lettuce please, and onion ring and a strawberry banana smoothie and the sandwich was terrible.
