Overkamp - Table reservation

We dined at Overkamp’s a very famous restaurant in Dortmund, with family on December in the middle of the famous days when the restaurant annually serves roasted geese in days – a day. The wait was a little long, given...that we had reservations, but the wait was worth it. The tomato soup was hot, very tasty, obviously housemade and not canned. The salads were fresh and the bread was a specialty – served with spiced goose fat, which gave real flavor to the bread and a hint of what was to come. The proprietor, Herr Overkamp, personally brings to the table and carves each goose, and watching him is an experience in and of itself. Each bird is perfectly done, and one can choose one of the two choices – breast or leg and thigh – it’s all dark meat anyway, so take your pick. The goose is served with red cabbage, a stuffed apple, and potato dumplings, and lots of gravy. Nothing was other than wonderful. It’s certainly a place to which I would like to return

Huge place, offering traditional German and contemporary food. Traditional deco. Family place with many different rooms permitting large celebrations. Food is good and wine card too. Value for money good

Nice restaurant, I think there is a hotel there and this is the hotel's restaurant. There are a lot of options for food and drinks even if the place is not so big

Very specially goose roast with typical westphalia new cuisine vegetables and sides tasty! Good and Kindly waiters. Nice atmosphere. Good price for Kitchen

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Food, service and ambience are first rate. The family are so nice and friendly
