Traveling from Jersey Channel Islands to Portugal was a long drive we needed somewhere to sleep and to stop and eat that was convenient for our journey. We stayed at the hotel over the road. We decided that we would eat out of the hotel there were 3 places next to the hotel the first two we tried were no longer serving food. We came to this nice little place and was greeted by the friendly staff they were all very polite, helpful. The food and drinks were great we had Tbone, lamb they were really tasty. If I didn’t live so far away I’d go here every week
Good god and service in the restaurant. There are basically 3 areas of this spot. The open patio facing the sea, an enclosed restaurant inside and a tented covered are outside. The last ideal for a nice lunch in the shade. Prices are OK, normal for a location like this. The fish we had was perfectly cooked on a grill. Associated salads etc were tasty. The only reason this place doesn’t get a 5 is that the bar staff are very unorganized when they get even moderately busy. You need to let them know no one is serving you.
on the very corner of Orio beach a nice little restaurant is hidden behind a regular beach restaurant look. But the service and the quality make it a quiet unique place. Even if the second time we went the sardines were not well cooked as the first time, the rest of our order was as usual of a high quality. And particularly the meat. It is too bad that the menu is not too large and often miss of certain dishes. We appreciated very much. The waiters are smily and make their best to satisfy you.
Returned to Orio after nearly 40 years and much has changed including this excellent beachfront bar and restaurant. We had an a great fish meal, the staff were very friendly and helpful and we even learnt a few words of Basque! Hopefully it won’t be another 40 years until we return
