My Father's House Southern Cuisine, Nyack, Ny

If you're looking for a restaurant with delicious food, a great atmosphere, awesome music, and a cozy home-like feel, you must visit My Father's House Southern Cuisine. My cousin and I made reservations for brunch on a Sunday at 2 PM. Church ended earlier than we anticipated so we arrived before our reservation and the hostess accommodated us with early seating. While reviewing the menu, co-owner and Chef Adrienne was stopping by tables, greeting customers with a warm smile and welcome. I told her I was there for my birthday and she wished me a happy birthday and told us to enjoy. There was live music being performed by the lovely Vanessa. She sang Gospel music, soul, and jazz.There was something so calming about her energy. Her voice, transcends you and makes you feel like, you're going back in time with the classics that she performed. Now let's get into the food. They start you off with a fresh basket of buttermilk biscuits and sweet potatoe muffins drizzled with a cinnamon honey concoction. I ordered fried fish (whiting to be specific). The fried fish comes with a side of pepper jack hush puppies but I told them not to send it out because I'm not a fan of hush puppies. For my sides I ordered six cheesemac cheese, collard greens and potato salad. Everything was seasoned well and tasted really good. I prefer my potato salad to be a little bit chunkier in appearance so I didn't finish all of it. But the little that I did taste was really good. Halfway through my meal I ended up adding a side order of the yams. I think out of everything I tried the yams was the best part of my meal. Let's be very clear everything is made fresh, seasoned well and delicious. For my drink I had a Carolina sunrise punch (non-alcoholic). That drink is liquid cra*k. Then to top it all off since I was there for my birthday I was able to pick dessert and I went with strawberry shortcake. Our server Malcom came out with the cake topped with a sparkler while Vanessa led everyone in singing Happy Birthday to me Stevie Wonder style. Memorable experience for sure. Give them a try but make sure you go hungry so you can enjoy all the good food.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming restaurant located in Nyack, New York. The ambiance was inviting, and it offered a perfect setting for a relaxing meal. Food is Amazing. They accommodate our family of 8 with no problem, considering the size. The southern hospitality was so welcoming, the staff was knowledgeable, comforting and delightful. We met the chef and owners and she was so pleasant. Now let's get down to the food. This was brunch menu, so Mimosa was on deck. Punch mimosa, perfect for fall. We ordered Smothered Porkchop with jasmine rice and collered greens. What's is the simplest word Bangin' Fried Jumbo Chicken wings with Grits Flavorful and Bangin' Fish and Grits with hush puppies Just heaven Kids Mac and Chesse, not your average Mac and Chesse. This was definitely Sunday Dinner Mac and Chesse perfectly seasoned and tasty. Lastly, was the Fried chicken and carrot cake waffle. If your a fan of carrot cake this freakin waffle was a fantastic combination on the pallet. Haven't tried Dinner yet, but will definitely go back to try some. Just try for your self, you will NOT be disappointed. Sorry no pictures taken food was too good.

Everything about My Father's Place was amazing! Great food, amazing people, lovely music, beautiful atmosphere! Nyack is blessed to have this gem!!
