We regularly go to various miller and carters. We don’t usually like going to chain restaurants but can usually guarantee a good steak at a miller carter. Unfortunately on this Wednesday evening our usual expectations weren’t met. Firstly it was a bit disappointing that our waitress made a complete fuss of the table with a child next to ours, and asked if they were celebrating anything- however we didn’t get any of this, leaving my 9 year old child wondering why he wasn’t being spoken to in the same way as the other child by the waitress. I had the fillet steak. Unfortunately I ordered it Medium, and it pretty much came out still mooing so had to send it back. They asked if I wanted a fresh one, or if I just wanted it to go back under the grill. To be honest, as it was my husbands birthday, I wanted to be able to eat with my family, so said back under the grill would be fine. Unfortunately when it arrived back to me, it was still cooked to medium-rare not to medium so I couldn’t eat it. The sautéed greens were bland and cold. The chips were hard and lacked flavour, pretty much just tasting of grease. My husband said his lobster was also bland, which is surprising as lobster usually has lots of flavour. I was disappointed that although my unedible steak was taken off the bill, the greens weren’t, even though these couldn’t be eaten with my meal due to waiting for my steak to get back. My sons fish fingers were really hard. I wouldn’t go back to Miller Carter burton until they got a chef that could actually cook a steak properly in a steak house! Our bill was still £65 for 2 main meals (1 being a child meal) which I think is a lot considering the service and food we were given. Would not recommend
This is by far the nicest M&C I have been too. The quality of service and food is fantastic. Staff really excel in the provision of beautiful food in a lovely atmosphere. Well done and please keep being amazing!!! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £50–60
