Macona Bbq - Table reservation

A lot of people were talking about how amazing burnt end cheese steak was and they looked delicious in pictures. First of all, when I went there it was cash only and the girl on the phone didn't bother to tell me that. I had to cross the street to get money from ATM. Now on cheese steak sandwiches. They were tasty but they were very salty. I don't know if that's how they cook their meat like that or they accidentally put too much salt but I could not finish my sandwich. I also ordered picante coleslaw because people said they were tasty but they were OK. Based on reviews and pictures they looked tastier than famous Philly cheese steaks but they were not better.

Great brisket sandwich, mysteriously terrible counter service. Guy took 10 minutes to come out from behind the curtain and help me, tho he knew I was there and the store was otherwise empty. I peeked back there and he was just sort of… doing other things. Then disappeared and took another 20 minutes to assemble a sandwich that had 2 things on it (meat, slaw). The sandwich tasted great (so, 4 stars because folks should know there’s good food here). Not sure if I’ll go back.

food was very good. the brisket was moist and portions were large. I was disappointed that they only offer the burnt end cheese steak once a month

Sorry, but Macona BBQ is closed. The owners have taken jobs elsewhere.
