We were in Alencon for just one night during our French countryside adventure. The restaurant we were going to go to didn't open until 7:00 p.m. and having skipped lunch we decided to walk around town to find another dinner place. We happened to find L'Oriental. They had just opened, I believe close to 5:00, and we were the first customers in. We thought is was a very small restaurant but we were walked back through what you see in the window to a nice-sized area - maybe seats 40. Great atmosphere. We were NOT disappointed. There were four of us and we ordered the chicken tagine, the couscous and one of our friends ordered chicken and french fries (I think). All of our food was beyond amazing. Could have dined there again. When we left 2 hours later (they don't rush you), the entire restaurant was full and there was a line waiting. A definite thumbs (two) up!!! Because we got there when they first opened we were lucky to be seated - in fact - the person who greeted us asked if we had reservations. My suggestion is if you like to eat a bit later than we did definitely make a reservation.
