"Since this is the highest chalet in the area, you get a view on both the valley to the north and the Annecy lake to the west. Good place to eat, fill up water bottles in the summer, and go on hikes."

Whilst this place is rather off the beaten track, it is worth the effort of getting there. Perched above Lake Annecy the view alone are worth the journey. We ate here on an August evening after climbing La Tournette. The food is traditional ..hearty Haute-Savoie fare, mostly using the cheese which is made on the premises in thelarge barn to the R of the outdoor seating area. After a complimentary Kir we decided to have the Fondant Du Chalet De L’Aulp', or melted Reblochon cheese in white wine garlic, with steamed potatoes, smoked ham salad. Lots of bread was also served. The food was great very filling, the wine good a large carafe of wine just We had a superb sunset which rounded of the day perfectly. Pick a day with fine weather for a great culinary experience.

We heard about this place whilst in Annecy and thought some local rural food in a mountain setting sounded good. The road to it is initially a windy but well paved surface and then it just become a rough track. We half expected that our...group would be the only ones daft enough to ascend in normal cars but other also made it without four wheel drive. Once there the scenery is amazing. We got there as the sun was going down and the sound of the cow bells made it a true alpine science. The food was really nice and whilst reasonably simple had great taste. The staff were really friendly and spoke enough English to compensate for our level of French! Definitely recommend this place but not in bad weather and use a reasonably robust car.

Fantastic experience! A bit unexpected as we hadn’t really heard of this place before. We took the ”wrong” way up the mountin, from south via Vesonne instead via Talloire, and roadsigns etc were not very clear. But we found it without any big problems, but...unfortunately the gravelroad the last bit up to the restaurant was closed after the last few days heavy rain which damaged the road so we had to walk the ladt few kilometers, but once there, it was fantastic! Wonderful views, numerous hiking trails in different levels, perfect! The service level in the outdoor restuarant was soandso, but prices were ok. Overall; A place definately to recommend!

Worth the drive and the hike for the gorgeous view on the Annecy lake and the traditional cheese meal. Plan on a sunny day in early July for dîner and sunset. You may have to ask local people to find the place which is actually...a farm. Also starting point for mountaineers to climb La Tournette.
