The quality of food in this restaurant came as a big surprise for this small village that seemed to be abandoned in September great value for a 3 course meal with an exceptional service. The atmosphere was lovely candles, small and cosy well designed room and quiet romantic music. It was run by two men who seemed to love what they do. We got a set menu with a soup, entrée, main course and desert for 23 euros. All the dishes where very well made from local fresh products and delicious, especially the summer salad, the trout and duck with blackcurrant sauce. The way the dishes were served was unique and appetizing. Also the selection of wines was great. Would highly recommend.
This lovely, cozy hotel is situated in the very heart of Bareges, a picturesque mountainous resort in the Pirenees. Your staying here will be relaxing and out of time, thanks to the surrounding green scenary and to a sweet small water stream flowing at the back of the building. You will also fall in love with the amazing food served with charming elegance in the dining room always at the sound of a romantic music in the background. The rooms are modern, well furnished and comfortable. Last but not the least the friendly atmosphere with which you will be welcomed by Christophe and his team. You will really feel at home ! We stayed at this hotel as part of a walking holiday in July, and had a very enjoyable week. The food is delicious, beautifully prepared and presented, we didn't try the midday meal as we were provided with packed lunches each day, but breakfast and dinner were excellent. Our room was very clean, and comfortable, and this is somewhere we would definitely stay again and have no hesitation in highly recommending.
We spent eight days here whilst skiing in Baréges/La Mongie, and the lodging comes with half-pension. The dinners were outstanding! Everything from soups to salads to entrees to dessert was exceptional. Their salad with goat cheese wrapped in phyllo was my favorite. Exceptional main courses included duck, trout, and lamb chops. Many local preparations. Would not hesitate to return!
