Even though it was a busy Sunday and we hadn't reserved a table, we only had to wait half an hour before being seated. We ordered salad and Patates Olot to start. The salad was large with plenty of variety, and the Patates Olot were really delicious. For main course we had a shank of lamb and plaice in lemon sauce. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, we thoroughly enjoyed them. And the price was reasonable too! We will look forward to returning.
we arrived late in Besalú after a delayed flight from Barcelona and this restaurant was directly below our lovely hotel. It was 11.30pm but gentle music was still playing, the staff were still welcoming and they had a great selection of gins which really eased the pain of our flight problems. Sitting in the courtyard was so relaxing and there was a really happy buzz. If we had been staying a second night we would have definitely returned for dinner
This restaurant is a must visit while in Besalu! The view is incredible. Would encourage you to make reservations in advance during peak seasons. The food and wine is more French influenced which we really enjoyed. The service and overall atmosphere was also incredible. Try the rabbit and lamb as both dishes were memorable. We felt like Kings and Queens drinking wine looking over the medieval draw bridge. So cool!
Very strange policy at this restaurant. When the weather is warm, you are not allowed to eat outside at the terrace unless you are with a large group with pre reservation OR you bring a dog. So After some discussion with the staff, we left again without having eaten.
