We were shown to our table by a friendly waitress. It was probably more than 5 minutes before we were offered drinks. By then we had more than sufficient time to peruse the menu. The wine list is small and pretty expensive. The food could not be faulted. However it is unacceptable to have entrée plates left on the table for many minutes after we had finished. What made it worse was that the apparent head waiter, walked past at least twice and then went on to serve other tables. We had to ask to have the plates removed.We were not offered another drink. We had to ask..The waiting staff were below average overall. There was only one waiter who gave the impression of wanting to be there.We enjoyed the food but the lack of service was so annoying I don't think I will be back
I went there for lunch as a guest of a long standing friend who is heading off overseas shortly . The food was good and to begin with the service was on the ball . but as the meal progressed it was hard to attract a waiter's' attention for some water . My host paid the bill and left a reasonably generous tip .As we excited the restaurant a waitress who had served us to whom we had paid the bill suddenly emerged from the restaurant and accused my host of not paying the bill !!!!!! It is first time in 50 years either of us have experienced such unbridled rudeness . Eventually the waitress grudging accepted that the bill had been paid but was far from gracious . We will not be back and I have already told my daughters about this experience .
Danny's has been on the Parade for many years and seen many similar restaurants come and go. I think the reason for Danny's resilience is that while it's not loaded with exotic Thai dishes what is presented is very good and always consistent. Service is punctual and the prices are very reasonable. Lunch specials offer excellent value.
We go here for dinner at least once a month and find the food and service to be consistent and excellent. Would highly recommend the pork belly, soft shell crab and the duck curry. However you basically can't go wrong on the menu! Curry puffs to start with are also amazing. Highly recommend.
