"I must admit I felt pretty sceptical when we turned up at our local South African restaurant only to find the South African owner has turned it into a North African place (because vive le panafricanisme, right?) but this turned out to be some of the best "African" food we ever tasted in any case! The lamb hummus is to die for, and it just keeps coming if you do the "feed me" menu..."

Talk about a fun, bustling, warm restaurant in the middle of Adelaide - you could be anywhere in the world, such is the style, charm and atmosphere of Africola. So deserving of its high accolades Africola is a must-go-to restaurant. We were fortunate to sit at the bar where we had full insight to the happenings in the kitchen. Try the feed-me menu and you will not go hungry! Mussels, artichoke, burnt peppers, awesome pickled vegetables, folded bread, chicken - it just kept coming. Flavours to excite and challenge the palette abound. Service was spot on, even on a full and busy Saturday night second sitting. Loved the vibe and attitude of the team, just great. Cannot recommend highly enough. Loved Africola and we'll be back for another fun night and amazing food!

Curious on the rave of Adelaide's cafe, bar and epicurean scene so decided to google some reviews and stumble across several good reviews of Africola, decided to book a 2nd dinner seating. As I walk along Rundle St 15min prior to my reserved time I received a call to reconfirm my reservation, I arrived at the scene and was greeted with bustling buzz of guests, chefs in its open-kitchen and bartendress...already loving the ambience! Had a quick glance of the menu and ordered a "Feed Me" chef's recommendations of the day and was not disappointed at all. Left the place at 10.30pm or so with a very happy and full tummy! Loved my first African cuisine encounter and look forward to come back with my hubby to experience it all over again! Well done Chef Duncan!

Having read about Africola, we were able to secure a dinner booking on a recent Adelaide trip. So glad we did. This is a wonderful, innovative restaurant bringing new tastes to our palates, and they're great.Peri peri chicken is a standout, as is the Roo. But a warning: these are big serves; ours for two would have served four. No matter, but be warned.Excellent friendly service by an energetic, busy young staff who know the food and wine. It's busy and bustling but, on a side table as we were, not too noisy.Very highly recommended

We were given a voucher for this restaurant and heard that it had a reputation for lots of meat. It was proved to be different. The menu is relatively limited but it was such that lots of plates could be shared or even re-ordered. Most impressive was the combination of flavours. Another bonus was that you could see your food being prepared and the owner calmly directing the whole kitchen. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. The wine list ehile interesting leans towards the more expensive price range
