Interesting! My wife and I are loyal visitors of this Chiringhito over several years. Last year my wife complained as we had been waiting one hour 15 minutes for a main dish of salmon, and the head waiter was extremely abrupt saying pretty much we are busy stop complaining! But still loyal visitors, we continued frequenting this establishment as we like the location. But again, albeit a lot less busier than previous, we waited and hour and a half for sardines, only to be told they run out, whilst asking throughout the hour and a half for 3 lots of beers, twice on each occasion as the service was extremely slow and forgetful. My wife went inside to pay the bill only to be charged for the sardines they ran out of, and the 3 beers they overcharged on the last visit. Being ignored at the bar whilst asking for the bill 3 times, the head waiter came rushing over nose to nose and said stop complaining! What a shame, absolute low class arrogance where the customer means nothing as they try to get as many through the door as possible and care very little if you never go back. Last time, lost customers for life!
Ignored when we arrived, eventually got the waiter to tell us where a table was he did not show us! We went to the table, no response from any of the staff for over 25 minutes. Not even the offer of a drink although the people before us were now seated and had drinks. Not sure if this was because we were English and they were Spanish? Anyway we walked out of there in disgust after trying several times to catch the waiters Eye…he would look at you but then look away deliberately …..we felt this was such dreadful customer service. Although they were busy when we arrived …over the 25 minutes there was ample time for them to ask us if we would like a drink! Never mind about food or menus. We will never go to this restaurant again and we frequent this area regularly as we live nearby. We have never had an experience like this before and we have travelled far and wide..
Ordered beers, salad and two sets of sardines. I had to chase the beers on 3 occassions. Waited for the sardines 1 hour. After 1 hour they told me they had run out of sardines. Ordered the bill and waited 15 mins for it. Complained. They gave me the bill and the sardines were included in the bill. I got really angry and instead of resolving the issues they themselves created, they treated me terribly and told me they should not have attended me.
Fried fish wasn't fresh, bad service, no class at all. The dessert took 1 hour to arrive. The location is real good, shame the management is so bad.
