I love this place. the large windows, high ceilings, friendly staff as well as the delicious and traditional foods and drinks offers. it is an Italian caffe, with a map of italia in one of the coffee tables, panini and brunette on the menu and cannoli in the display cabinet (also the name of caffe is Italian “friend” means hunger in italian.) the coffee that is said truth is not quite after my taste I find it too bitter. it is a dark Italian espresso that is in tune with the Italian mood of caffe, and a kind of coffee that I can normally enjoy. I used to have lived in italia, running the years many espresso and espresso-based drinks (and made) and so I have some relevant knowledge here. I appreciate the bitterness that I taste, is a result of them with a particularly dark roast and/or draw that are particularly highly extracted (Espresso extraction can be varied by the barista and is a function of the mill size, the ratio of ground coffee used to liquid coffee, and brew temperature.) I see that many people order

We hadnt looked for this cafe beforehand but came across it looking for somewhere to have breakfast. It looked to really fit in with the victorian buildings around near the station, which drew our interest. The menus on offer gives a wide selection to suit all. We settled on croissants. The croissants whether just with jam or toasted with ham and cheese were very good. The place was quiet when we arrived but by the time we left at 10am it was filling up nicely. If we'd have been staying around in Glasgow for the day then we may have been back to try something else. Overall this was a pleasant place to have a nice breakfast. Staff were attentive.

an eclectic decoration matched my eclectic breakfast. I come to glasgow and always go to this most excellent caffe to enjoy its unique and pleasant atmosphere. eating is good and the staff always helpful. bridge the chains and franchises and come here instead.

Beautiful coffee shop with great food and coffee, calmer less touristy place than the Macintosh Willow Tea Rooms. Comfy chairs, great lattes, lovely poached eggs on crunchy toast.
