Pizza Express - Reservar uma mesa

We arrived to find that we had a table inside after being told on the phone it would be outside. The table we were sat at was hotter than outside as behind glass and sun pouring in, we asked to move a little further back...and away from the people sat directly behind us (social distancing and all we were definitely less than meter from them) and away from the blazing sun, the managers response was “If you don’t like it leave.” So we tried to make it work. We were there for our sons birthday, I had spent hours making him the Lego police and fire cake he wanted. I wanted to keep it out of the sun. I appreciate it couldn’t go into the kitchen like in the good old pre-COVID days. So, I asked if I could put it on a chair which was placed in the corner, in the shade away from anyone. Manager again confronted me saying it had to go on our roasting hot table and “if you don’t like it LEAVE” so we did. There were two other members of staff who looked very embarrassed by his behaviour and tried to help but he just cut them short. Another openly apologised about his behaviour. Such a shame as our son LOVES Pizza Express and it was a birthday surprise going there with his grandparents who had travelled an hour to get there. All was not lost we all had a wonderful time in our cool back garden with the most delicious pizzas from Amore. On another aside, there was no hand sanitiser on the way in, this surely is a must!

Arrived for booking, given not very clean menus and shown to table. Waitress arrived for drinks order and left, quite a while later returned as she had lost order. After a long wait returned for meal order went off after a while she returned...as she had lost order. After another wait she returned to inform us of missing ingredients for one meal. The restaurant was nearly empty so how do they run out. After hour meal arrived it was good if you like burnt calzoni. We tried to order deserts and there was many sold out,this is a Saturday evening and early sudenly a mysterious two portions of tirmsui were found,after two hours we decided just to leave without deserts. We asked for bill this arrived immediately with waitress holding card machine, how rude was this. A discussion with manager was a waste of time but a small discount had been put on bill. What was annoying other customers came in ordered, served and finished before our meal was served. A return visit is not likely.

Excellent service Went for lunch it was gorgeous food, social distancing was good. Service was very quick, menu was great. Really enjoy visiting here, it’s a lovely restaurant for all occasions. Recommend going with children the staff were really friendly.

Had a lovely evening out with my partner with a very kind waitress remembered my balsamic vinegar and had a good laugh with us. Everyone was very friendly. Sadly didn’t grab her name but will definitely come back!

Always a great place for a quick lunch. Food is always good quality if a little slow sometimes. Overall a nice atmosphere
