L'espace Gourmand

We were on our way to Bulle and decided to stop for lunch at this delightful shop. Previously we had always enjoyed picking up some local dairy products while passing by. Stopping for lunch turned out to be a bad idea. We chose the main dish a small colorful, visually pleasing salad drenched in dressing and 'poulet emince avec riz '. The chicken bits were swimming in a sauce that was too salty to enjoy. Despite trying to reduce the salt content by washing the food on the plate with some mineral water, the dish remained inedible. When the lovely waitress asked how it was and we pointed out the saltiness, she simply smiled and remained super polite but kept mum and was completely unresponsive. We left with the impression that lunch was simply some processed wannabe out of a box. Not recommended. All employees were super friendly but you would be wise to take your appetite elsewhere. Gruyere is a quaint village just a few minutes away. I can heartily recommend eating at the Hotel de Ville in the lovely square of this medieval village instead. It won 't cost you more than this processed nightmare.

This is a beautiful shop with delicious food from the region. There is a great variety of cheese, dry meats, and many other specialities of the region. The service is excellent. Picturesque place, great idea to combine the grocery store and restaurant side. Pretty rustic decor, menu with typical Gruirian dishes, and even delicate Neirivue trout. Small downside on the friendly service but a little slow.

An address to recommend with your eyes closed to taste good local products, to take away or on site. In addition, the welcome is charming and the decoration very nice.
