We have visited this restaurant for lunch on several occasions, and have never been disappointed. This is basically a husband wife business, with the husband being the very talented chef in the kitchen downstairs and the wife the busy front of house. The clientele are usually local business people at lunchtime, though many customers come from nearby Nice. There is usually a very good dish of the day and a slightly more expensive beef dish of the day, or a good à la carte menu. For example today the dish of the day was pintarde, and the beef was an entrecôte, which we selected. It was one of the best entrecôte steaks we have tried, and very good value. The chef prides himself on his supply of beef,and his sauces are delicious. The choice of wines is broad for a restaurant of this size, and even the pichet of local Rosé was good. This is one of those restaurants you are reluctant to review because you want to keep it to yourself (and of course the locals!

I was too tired to cook and needed to eat, and eat well. I started with œufs en cocotte, sauce au ceps. Oh Lordy. So very VERY good. Keith had gravlaxx. The cure was very light, no trace of dill, he said it was good but not as expected. I had a second starter, foie gras with mushrooms. Normally a beautiful slice of liver beautifully sautéed, this time not so good, the mushrooms weren’t hot, but the chef had generously added sublime slices of smoked duck breast, which were light years away from what one buys sous vide in the super markets. Keith loves the beef served here, but for a change he had filet mignon de pork. As usual excellent service and we left very happy.

My partner and I found this place via trip advisor and it defiantly lived up to the reviews! Gorgeous French food, amazing wine and lovely hospitality. We liked it so much we went back for lunch a couple of days later! The waitress was very friendly and helpful, although she didn’t speak much English she translated the menu for us. Very good value for money considering the amazing quality of the food. Would definitely recommend!

super first experience in this tale restaurant. warm welcome and tasty cuisine I can only recommend to go the eyes closed.
