"A small restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. I’m FODMAP intolerant but that wasn’t a problem for the chef. All the food was stunning, delicious and easily worthy of a Michelin star."

Best asparagus ever, nice croquettes, very good T-bone. On food quality alone, this place deserves a 5. Decoration is a bit quirky, but the place is homely. So far so good. So what was the problem? My son’s main course arrived 1h45’ after sitting at the table, after chasing it several times, and, when it finally did... it was cold! We had to ask for it to be taken back to the kitchen. As we waited, the main course that my husband and I shared (the T-bone) finally also arrived. Guess what: it was cold as well! Also taken back to the kitchen! No apologies. No invitation to a digestif or dessert or anything. No discount on the bill. There are so many exceptional restaurants in the valley, what is the point of wasting the opportunity of a memorable dinner in a place like this? Not coming back. I don’t assign a 2 because, I insist, food was actually good.

La Casuca is the place you want to arrive after a long tiring journey and dream of finding in this picturesque village in Val d’Aran. Friendly charming staff, specially who I presume is the owner and the waitress from Madrid who made us feel welcome. They looked after us paying attention to every detail. The service was a 10! The food is delicious with large helpings and the price reasonable, we recommend the entrecôte, and the lamb chops. The restaurant is set over 3 small floors in an old original house, showing wooden beams, a fantastic wooden staircase and it’s warm and inviting. This should be a must on anyone’s list when visiting Arties! Really enjoyable. Thank you very much guys for taking us in from the cold!

We had a very nice meal in this small restaurant. This seems a small family run eatery where you get a nice meal, and they try to offer something different and a bit above your average grub. They are successful and produce some yummy, but not earth shattering meals. We ordered some extra fries with our main course because the children did not fancy any of the starters. These chips were very nice home-cooked, crispy delights with nice seasoning. A good meal, in a very quirky setting, served in a friendly un-intrusive way

4 of us had dinner here. The results were very mixed.. my wife and I enjoyed the cassoulet entrée,while the other entrées were bland. For the mains the shoulder of lamb was excellent, the entrecôte was tough and the cod totally inedible., tuna was not exciting. All in all not a memorable meal. The recommended wine was good. Ambiance O.K. And service pleasant.
