I booked a table in Rössli after reading the positive reviews hereunder, and got rewarded with a great dinner: uncomplicated atmosphere, delicious food, friendly service. On Fridays and Saturdays be sure to reserve a table I sat in the wooden “Stammsaal” and it was fully booked. Congrats to the staff, who is truly welcoming and efficient. The menu puts focus on traditional Swiss specialties and as I visited early November game and venison dishes. I started with the “Herbst Duett” (autumn duet) comprising of lamb’s lettuce salad in a crispy parmesan basket as well as pumpkin soup served in a glass. Original and delicious starter. As main course I chose the deer schnitzel served with all the trimmings very tasty and generous portion. Unreasonably I indulged myself with a Coupe Nesselrode as dessert (chestnut paste, vanilla ice cream, meringue). Even the small portion was already XL sized! In high price Switzerland the bill remained pleasantly moderate. A Gasthof in the countryside which I definitely recommend.
