Gasthaus Zum Adler

Great choice in Schaffhausen. They offer a varied menu with a lot of classic Swiss dishes but also seasonal food (we saw a large asperges selection.) We opted fir the house special, Chateaubriand for two, which was delicious. Very nice staff as well, and a good wine list. Good value for money, prices for the same food deeper in Switzerland are higher. Must be the German influence!

One of the very few places in Schaffhausen that offers a big selection of traditional Swiss dishes. Especially recommended for tourists. Menus in German and English, with most definitely something for everyone. Beautiful garden seating with lots of shade, a little oasis on a hot summer day. Food and service are good, prices are within reason. En guete!

Mine host is a super star. Great greeting. Prompt service. Very helpful with an English menu and translation with house specialties. Superb food and wine. All at a reasonable price.

there were multiple menus for lunch , one vegetarian, and they offered to make special dishes. the waiter was very funny.
