Eastern Promise

We have been to the Eastern Promise twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed both visits. The food is hot, very tasty and there is a huge choice. The flavours are excellent and fresh-tasting. On both occasions we ate early and the restaurant was starting to...get busy even at that time. It is very obvious that many people were regulars, which is always a good indication of a good eating place! We must mention the friendly and helpful staff we have been to many Indian restaurants where the service is efficient but the staff make no effort to engage with their customers not so here, we were made to feel welcome and the waiters spent time chatting with diners which is so lovely to see. Can’t wait to go again!

I understand in these times it’s hard for companies and staff however Absolutely disgusted with the service! First of all the food turned up 25 minutes late then Got delivered the wrong order, we called to say about the order then promised our order in...full to then have to wait another 25 minutes for the order to only come as part of what we had ordered and we were expected to eat someone else’s cold food when issues were raised service was appalling and was only offered a free dish next time.

we ordered a takeaway that comes about 2 miles from the restaurant. it was an order for over £80 and they added £3 for delivery, without warning. the food was very disappointing and we will not order again. the rice was...old and was heated again. my lamb maras was a mix. a part of it was a good quality and well cooked with beautiful lamb pieces. the other part had different colorful sauce and had hard uncooked pieces of lamb and gristle. not pleasant

I did not visit this restaurant long since it, like most Indian restaurants today, is not open for lunch. we were a big party of 20 and they looked after us very well. especially eating was very good. I would welcome all curry lovers. as an additional bonus they have a very inexpensive house wine.

An unplanned visit for dinner. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very clean, quiet, comfortable. The food was authentic and varied. For desert we had another main so no comment on desert. An absolutely wonderful surprise. Highly recommended.
