Went to a wedding at the castle and stayed a night. Email said the price was 184chf for 2 adults and a child w/ breakfast. When it was time to pay, 1) the card machine was "broken" and cash was required, 2) the price was 204chf, and 3) no receipt was given when asked. I know that the hotels in Switzerland can be pricey but this was ridiculous. The room was clean but very old and so was the rest of the establishment. When asked (I showed his email) why the extra 20chf, it was for tax and person fees blah blah (normally, prices already include these things). Breakfast was ok and the staff were friendly. They knew that being the only listed hotel in La Sarraz that they can get away with it. I could've stayed in Crissier or Ouchy at a much better hotel for the same price. Therefore, I do not recommend this place.
We stayed in the hotel and ate in the restaurant the evening before a wedding in the nearby castle. Good: The location is just 150m from the castle, the rooms are clean, the food is hearty but good, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.Bad: the place is a quite faded, smelled of deep frying all over, and is too expensive for what you get ( they clearly know that they're the only one in the village).
