The worst take away experience I have ever encountered. Made an order at 7.30pm and paid by phone totalling £40, was told an hours wait for delivery. Got a call 20 mins later to inform me the card number was taken incorrectly, but the food was going to be ready in 10-15 minutes. Waited until 8.30pm, nothing, so called back and was advised it was on it 's way. Received a missed call 15 minutes later from a lost driver who had gone to the wrong address. For context of the situation I live a 2 minute drive away and have never had any delivery issues with any other restaurant) Finally the food was delivered at 8.50pm by a driver who requested payment when it was prepaid. 3 ITEMS FROM THE ORDER WERE MISSING. I called up, explained and requested a half price discount which was agreed. I then drove to the shop after putting the remainder of the food in the oven to stay hot. When I arrived I was told that I could not have the partial refund which was then reinstated and received. I then hear a man shouting in the kitchen that he was not prepared to give me free food and to tell the receptionist when I had arrived...obviously I was present and heard everything. The man shouting manager) appeared and advised he was confused that items were missed on the order. He then returned to the kitchen and began to shout and swear at his staff for the mistake. It was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. Finally at 9.10pm the receptionist appeared with the food and apologised. I asked to speak to the manager because the service was appalling and I wanted to discuss a further reimbursement. I was told this was not possible because the manager was the receptionsts father and 'he was very angry! '. I asked several times to speak with him and was declined. Then I explained that there had been a number of errors made and I was very unhappy to pay the amount which had been settled for the stressful experience. The receptionist gave me a further £10 for goodwill and I accepted this...although it was a complete shambles and couldn 't believe I had witnessed such aggressive behaviour from the manager to his staff. Having got home and began to eat 2 hours later, things actually got even worse. I received a series of abusive calls from the manager threatening that I returned all of the food because the amount I had been compensated was not proportionate. Worse still, he accused me of manipulating his son!!! Who looks mid 20 's...I am only a 29 year old female) Of course I did not go back out and ate my dinner, which was rather nice. Not the best, not the worst Indian take away I 've eaten and I 've had a fair few across the UK! The service at Coco Spice was a disgrace however. I would never ever order there again due to this horrendous Friday evening and warn others that while tucking into your curry, the owner here will no doubt be screaming at the workers and treating them very poorly! On this occasion it was directed at the customer aswell. :

As to whether you get your meal within an hour. We placed our order at 5.20pm thinking we would stand a good chance of a 6pm delivery being only 423 metres away. Moral of the story go and pick it up. Food usually ok but since re naming of business the quality , quantity and general temperature of food can be very iffy. Our family meal had 1 wrong dish and 2 meals that had to be microwaved and side dish which was inedible. Maybe it was a busy night (weds)

When this place was first taken over by Star of Bengal it was amazing just like restaurant food as a takeaway. Things had been getting less good for a while but the meal we had last week was horrid; tasteless, smaller portions and chicken that was so tough it was inedible. I'm posting this in the hope that they may see it and make some changes. It definitely used to be Uckie's best and it would be so good if they could take that top slot again.

Really impressed and happy with my recent curry takeaway. The Dansak has a good level of spice and plenty of sauce. Really good finally found a good curry takeaway in Uckfield. Also customer service was friendly too which is always a bonus
