Cantina Apertura

On my way to the Gotthard tunnel I stopped for lunch in the picturesque village of Flüelen, located at the very end of the Vierwaldstättersee Lake. Thanks to the positive reviews here I opted for Cantina Apertura, which proved a very good choice - good food and relaxed atmosphere.The lovely terrace is the main asset of this restaurant, boasting stunning views (wow!) over the lake and surrounding mountains.Thumbs-up to Carmen for her friendly and energetic service.The menu is short and puts focus on homemade dishes. As main course the pan-fried trout fillets were tasty and served with a generous portion of vegetables. As dessert I chose the panna cotta - light and refreshing.Do not come here if you look for haute cuisine. But for a good and simple lunch at reasonable (Swiss) prices, Cantina Apertura is a sensible choice. The bill for my two-course lunch with soft drink and coffee amounted to CHF52.

A local recommended us to visit the restaurant Aperture for a meal. And we are truly happy that we followed the recommendation. A 10 minute walk along the lake brought us to the restaurant, where we enjoyed a great lunch in a pleasant atmosphere. Due to the nice weather we sat outside (directly at the lake front) and both were surprised by the (VERY) big portions. The food was not totally high class, but of very good quality and it became obvious that no convenience food is served but everything is made fresh and with passion. Our waitress was very friendly and also the owner (or manager) came by several time to greet us, respectively ask if everything is the way we hoped for.. I got a great feeling of being very welcome..Everybody in the area asking for a nice place to eat - I would totally recommend the restaurant Apertura!! Will visit again if we are nearby!

You won't beat the setting! Sitting under shady old trees by the lake, the waves gently splashing against the sailboat moored to the shore on a sunny afternoon - awesome.We ordered the spanish pizza which was excellent. The veggies on my wife's pizza were pretty scarce - but presentation, service and the glas of prosecco 'on the beach' made up for that. Price is fair - service was great - ambience excellent. A lovely afternoon - to die for!Keep up the great work - we will be back next time we are over from Down Under.

Visited this place again after quite some time with my complete family and I must say it was again very good. We could sit outside near the sea and so the scenery was fantastic with the mountains etc. Staff is very friendly and the food - a mix of mediterian and local - was very good. The menu is not too large but they prepare everything fresh which of course is very good. Really enjoyed the evening and for sure will come back.
