Auberge du Bac - Reservar uma mesa

We went here after crossing the bat (ferry) to see the remarkable Jumieges abbey. It made a good end to the morning trip. This is a good quality auberge and makes an effort to source good fish and local cuts of meat for the kitchen. The addition of the front conservatory looking on to the river makes for a good setting and brings much needed light into the traditional oak-beamed interior. The menu offers Norman favourites with a wider range of simple, but well-prepared, French standards. The owners and the kitchen clearly make a great effort to put out a good table and to do so consistently in an area with modest passing traffic is an achievement.

Went to this restaurant during a one night stopover in the region. Many tables overlook the river and beautiful scenery. The staff were lovely and took pity on our poor French, although they were very encouraging of the kids (11 and 14) attempts to order. Food was tasty and good. As a vegetarian there was not anything on menu for a main but they whipped me up potatoes, vegetables and risotto which was very tasty. Pricey but so hospitable it was worth it!

A fantastic evening meal on the banks of the Seine. My wife and I opted for the 18.50 Eur menu. A fromage course can be added for 1.50 Eur - why would you not?! Each course was expertly prepared and delicious. In particular I loved the Assiette de Bulots et Crevettes (whelks and prawns) as a first course. Great wine list. Best feature may be the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff.

Friendly and relaxed service, excellent food and a pleasant location made this into an excellent place to stop for lunch.
