Outstanding food, beautifully presented, great decor and great service. We liked it so much that the next time we go to Cardiff, we will book to eat here. In fact, even if we are just passing Cardiff on the we will probably come off the motorway to eat here before carrying on our way. It is not really easy to define the menu, as it had Chinese, Japanese and Malaysian dishes. We each had a different starter and main course (and did a Gavin and Stacey mix'n'match with each other). Everything was delicious. I checked to see if tips were shared with all of the staff (they are) and as we were so impressed we left a tip.

Starters were ok. Veg gyoza were nice and the duck wrap was ok but very tough wrapMain, sweet and sour chicken had massive pieces of onion in itVeg option had no real flavour and was quite disappointingService wasn't great and the staff were eating when we looking at our menusQuite expensive for what it was

I’ve been mad keen to visit The Crispy Duck on Whitchurch Road for a long time. They’ve won Oriental restaurant of the year in the South Wales Echo Food Drink awards, a clutch of people have recommended it, and their menu of pan-Asian food reads really well (think sushi, yakitori, noodles and Cantonese classics amongst others). They’ve clearly got a broad fan-base too. On the Thursday evening we visited, the clientele ranged from Asian businessmen to toned crossfitters and a large group celebrating an th birthday party. As we chose from the menu, we ordered a couple of beers and nibbled on a bowl of complimentary deep fried snacks that were light on seasoning and flavour. Whilst there’s a ton of interesting sounding dishes on Crispy Duck’s menu, its expansiveness and the seemingly arbitrary differentiation between some of the starters and mains (beef teriyaki is a starter whilst crispy duck salad is a main) made ordering more of a conundrum than usual.  Put it this

We were having an evening meal with a family of 3 and tried different starters and mains. It was all soooo good and we would have come back also the next day but unfortunately that day it was closed. We went there very spontaneously on the way back from a day tour so we didn't reserve any table. Luckily we got a seat as it was such a great food experience. All dishes were perfectly prepared and served. The owner and also the staff was very lovely and friendly. We can really fully recommend the restaurant.

Had a delicious meal here last night. Always a winner when it comes to having a pan Asian flair. Can't fault it at all. Food always comes out hot and fresh, we always get polite service with a smile . Looking forward to our next meal there.

Once again I can’t speak highly enough of the quality and high standards set at the crispy duck . We had a family supper here and we all said how delicious the food is . It was a busy night but that in some way adds to the atmosphere and it doesn’t stop the staff having time for you and making sure you are happy . Well done Eric and the team
