We were here as a group of about dozen people and were really impressed. Congenial surroundings, couldn't fault the service, good value for money and superb food and wines. I chose the melt-in-the-mouth Ochsenfetzen, which was really delicious, and as I don't like eating large meals at night, I was pleased to find that one has the option of choosing a smaller portion. Highly recommended.
Was so looking forward to this beautiful little restaurant and was so disappointed!! Way too expensive for the quality, my Tafelspitz beef was tough and the horseraddish sauce tasted only of flour!!! The service was incredibly bad, we sat around with empty glasses for ages even after calling their attention to it. I can only say, don't waste your time and money!!
The Old Angel is a busy place, with both the upstairs and downstairs rooms filled to capacity in the evening. The restaurant has a decent wine list and serves a good variety of traditional Palatinate specialties a good looking burger, all done competently.
this place offers many ways to sit. there is the basement, the garden, the ground floor, all different styles simply sit and enjoy. Great wine map, with some really good local wines (basserman jordan Riesling! . We had a burger that was just great.
