Highly recommended possibly the best restaurant inn Hondarribia (and we tried most of them! . We enjoyed an absolutely superb meal at Zeria fresh local fish and seafood, succulent, tender steaks (cooked to perfection and excellent wines (including some from the Basque region . Relaxed but attentive service from a friendly young waitress who was very happy to explain dishes and to make recommendations. As a dessert, fresh homemade junket (like my grandmother used to make in Somerset served with local honey made a pleasant and refreshing change from the more usual offerings. The upstairs dining room oozes authentic historical charm (the building is 500 years old , and it's tastefully furnished with beautiful antique chairs and crisp white table linen. On warmer evenings you can sit outside and enjoy the buzz and atmosphere of the busy pedestrian street. Al in all, such an enjoyable evening, that we booked to visit again a few days later and our second visit was equally impressive.

We are vacationing in San Sebastián this week and decided today to visit Hondarribia a small coastal town some 26 kilometers away near the French border. We had been informed that the best restaurants there were located in the ‘ fisherman's Quarter but had not made a reservation not smart! . Two restaurants we tried were full . We were about to leave the area when we noticed that there was a vacant table at Zeria. A fortunate coincidence because we had an excellent meal there. The food selected was excellent starting with a perfect fish soup .our main courses were grilled monkfish excellent and baked flaked crab- also good but a little too spicy for my partners taste. The service was good and pleasant. Only problem as in many other places here hardly any English language capability. Finally light desserts-lemon sorbet with cava and a delicious junket. Another plus is the very attractive terrace

Had dinner here based on recommendation from hotel...nice ambiance and good service but food was unremarkable at best and very expensive for what you get! We started with the seafood soup, which was served from a large bowl. The fish pieces were falling apart from being in the broth under heat too long...at 11€ a piece! Then my wife had the grilled shrimp and I had the clams in a green sauce...at 22€ each, they were more like a starter than a dinner portion. Had a nice bottle of rosè, a bottle of pellegrino, one dessert and a coffee for 97€ plus a tip...when all is converted to US$118.00, underwhelming to say the least!

What a delightful restaurant to visit. first built in 14th century part of an old fishing village it was then. You can watch the passing parade of locals and tourists as they enjoy the balmy evenings [July]. Food good specially the apple tart dessert. Excellent service. The crab dish was a bit on the rich side for me.
