Western Pho - Table reservation

After a few years around the corner in a side street, proprietor Phi Huynh and his talented family have moved into new premises in Ballarat Road. The new place is cheerfully decorated and continues to sell zesty food, freshly prepared in a vibrant environment. This is a much loved restaurant and large families, with boisterous children, seem to adore the place. I'd prefer there was a little more sound cushioning, but the excellence of the kitchen more than makes up for the bustle.The signature pho is beautiful. A wonderful clear broth and heaps of herby stuff, plus my partner's adored tripe in abundance(on request). There is generous use of Vietnamese herbs and their chicken with ginger and lemon grass is popping with vibrant flavour. The menu is wide, dishes generous, and service, although occasionally a little dour, is efficient.No need to go to Sunshine or Footscray now, Western Pho stands proud in Deer Park.

Our group of four were feeling like having some Vietnamese Food on a Sunday lunch so decided to try this restaurant located at the nearby Deer Park Shopping Centre. It has only been here for a short period of time so it is newly renovated.We shared meals like spring rolls, pepper beef, salt and pepper calamari, fried rice, chines brocoli and sizzling seafood. Meals were quite enjoyable. Only negatives were the limited english spoken by our server and the fried rice was far from the best Ive ever had.

We often eat at this cafe style restaurant when we want a quick meal. It is a casual place to dine and it beats takeaways any day. Food is delicious and served very fast. Prices are cheap for the quality of food and size of servings. The staff are courtius. You won't be disappointed. I love the sizzling seafood platter with garlic and ginger. You have to order the steamed rice as extra. The fried banana fritters were enormous and very good. I cannot fault any meal we have eaten there.

The food was honestly very nice... But the service is shocking and thus ruining the whole experience.... When I asked if they have coconut rice they said yeah yeah.., and then they bring out coconut juice... ( and the prawn crackers tastes like they were...More

Very good place to eat soup! A must try if you're in Deer Park. I really like the Tom Yum soup and rice noodles! Also the entree soups are wonderful and very tasty! Whenever I visit this place, it reminds me of Vietnam
