Really solid food and experience so I'm not surprised that this place is busy. We started at the bar and you can tell that you are well taken care of with experienced bartenders. We enjoyed the skinny spicy margarita but my rye manhattan tasted more like an old fashioned. Not the worst because it was tasty but not what I ordered. We ordered tons of food for 4 people: 1. fried calamari very tender and well fried but I thought that the sauce was way too thin. I would get again. 2. Octopus a la plancha it could have been more tender but ultimately, the portion size was way too small for the price. I would not get again. 3. Oreganato pot it was OK. I wouldn't get it again. 4. Thai pot this was fantastic. Very tasty. The fries were good but could have been a little more crispy. 5. Belgian chocolate gelato was OK. 6. Creme brule Fantastic. Service was somewhat attentive but ultimately could have been more friendly. Overall, solid meal and we left happy. I would not that that's plenty of parking in the back and that the restaurant tends to be on the louder side.
I have been going to Waterzooli for many years, never had any issues until a friend and I went there for dinner ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE Ordered mussels oregnata It was oily for starts, soggy breadcrumbs The mussels had no taste and most of the mussels were empty Telling you the bread was stale and the butter was frozen is a footnote I have zero stars Waterzooli has really gone downhill Most importantly, my friend threw up all night and I had the runs A true disappointment
I came across this restaurant via social media and the food and reviews looked pretty good so I took my boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday.
