"If you think, you have seen the best of the Kaiserstuhl at some vineyards, you have seen nothing unless you have spent an afternoon in this marvellous open-air-space under the branches of a cooling walnut-tree, enjoyed Annette Greve's special-T and tasted her sumptuous cakes."

seating spread out in the backyard of a very old house. In the middle a large walnut tree offers shade and privacy. This is a very personal tea garden, with the cakes and quiche baked daily by the owner, and usually with the home grown...walnuts included in the recipe. Everything is special, the tea is brewed in a samovar. I had a mixture of highmountain black and green teas with a gentle but firm infusion of rosmary. I also enjoyed a cold cucumber and walnut soup. My wife had a walnut and blackcurrent cake. The portions are sized so you can enjoy more than one do not expect a large piece of gateau). This is a very personal tea garden, and the owner is very happy to help you enjoy your stay and answer any questions. The only question you will have to decide is how much the experience was worth before you leave, as there is no price list. This can be a bit intimidating as comparisons are hard to make. But remember the aim of the garden is to help you feel good, so the money is not so important.
