We decided on this place after looking at a lot of menus. The fish tacos and chowder were what we came for and we were not disappointed. The fish tacos were delicious. Flaky fish in a great batter, the right toppings and sauce. They were fantastic. The chowder wasn't what I'd call a traditional chowder, but it was amazing. The addition of bacon and veggies was great. The sourdough bread dipped into the soup was soup-erb. And the whaler lager was a great addition to our meal. If we are ever back in the area we will for sure be stopping by!

Jonas, the bottom bartender, he's covered with 80 actor tattoos, hard to miss. He pours a good heavy drink, his banter is always entertaining and if you are lucky he will see a hot box or two for you.
I've never had a bad time at the WhalerGreat spot at the Venice Pier to meet up with friends and grab a few drinks, some food and watch the sunset.
LiterallyWORST SERVICE EVER, 5 out of 5 triesThis place is just down the street from my house so I have given them more tries than I should.
