This was my first visit since the end of lockdown. I had the cooked breakfast which was not as good as before. There was no vegan black pudding, instead I was served a cold hash brown, which tasted like it had come straight out of...a packet. The aubergine was swimming in cheap cooking oil; the rest of it was tasty but very, very spicy so beware if you can’t tolerate spicy food. Worst of all it came with a slice of toasted white so-called ´bread’ . For a cafe that aspires to a Middle Eastern vibe why not serve pitta or flat breads? Oh and the prices on the printed menus don’t match what you actually pay. (Which is more of course). The coffee was literally scalding hot, leaving me with blisters inside my mouth- should have been more careful or added the one plant milk available, (several listed on the board). Shan’t be going back. Shame, as the falafels looked delicious
We had breakfast booked, but also found ourselves looking for a dinner place the night before and tried here for a table. They were really kind and went out if their way to accommodate us. The food was so tremendous that evening, we were the...last patrons there. Highlight was definitely the Seitan Steak with Roquefort Sauce and the rosewater-tinted Baklawa. Breakfast the next morning, they opened half an hour earlier to accommodate us, and the brekkie choices continued to delight our tastebuds. The royal breakfast is a must (photographed no vegan black puddings, so they replaced with a chonky hash brown). If you're veggie/vegan or just a fan of delicious food, and find yourself in Cheltenham, Vegetus is a MUST.
The owner I presume was really rude to us and he was shouting as well as we haven’t had a face mask and we were standing by the door, then he came really close to us and start shouting that he was In hospital because...of people like as and kept swearing without me and my friends saying anything to the man then before we left he also said we are not English, witch came out of nowhere!! It’s disgusting behaviour and really disgusting, do not take your family there nor your friends !!! Worst place I’ve been to in my life !
This place is great food is amazing, desserts are to die for, fast service and entertaining host. Very nice atmosphere and really nice selection of dishes, I actually struggled to make my choice, not used to so many vegan options on the menu! I...had the best vegan lasagne here and the chocolate cake with salted caramel was absolutely amazing. I will definitely back next time I'm in Cotswold,
