I have eaten at Vault several times which tells you I like it. The wine and drinks list is not huge but has some good options and the prices are reasonable. The food is tasty, well prepared and fresh. Last visit I had the lamb cutlets which were delicious. The servings are generous so don't over-order, especially if you want dessert. The cake display is very tempting! I have had variable experiences with the service depending on who is on duty. Generally the staff are friendly and the service is good. Occasionally I have encountered very inexperienced staff and the service has not been great- but my view is that as a customer you can help by being light about it, encouraging them and having a laugh. As with all the restaurants in Yarraville it is best to book, especially over the weekend.
First visit to this busy corner eatery, and I'll be honest, I hankered for the old school Italian trattoria opposite, but when it comes to friendship, selfishness isn't such an endearing quality.The reward was an excellent, plentiful and tasty Lamb shank special; the Wednesday Chicken Parma Specials were simply great value and the Fish & Chips, reliable if a little mean with the fish. Excellent well priced and mainly local wines on a small list added to the unfussy feeling of a genuine Local. As for my little Italian, I'll make it back - next time!
The Vault is a cornerstone in authentic Melbourne. From Breakfast to late dining the Vault has an excellent menu. Having been there a few times for lunch and again for breakfast and afteroon tea every meal has been 5 star! Service is always with a smile!
Took a trip across the Westgate early Sunday morning, our focus Yarraville, glad we did. We found "the vault". Will definitely make another trip. Great good, great Sunday morning music (subtle), not head banging. Waitress the best
