Two Steps Fisheries

Have to say this place is by far the best chippy in town! I've been a regular friday visitor for almost years and this place is often busy with the queue stretching out the door even in the rain. Well priced and they don't...skimp on portions. I can rarely actually finish my tea. Good mix of all your chippy favourites. Friendly staff and I like the little touch of giving kids a chip lolly while they wait... though this is very age discriminatory as I never get offered one hahah. A great place with a good proud long history.. ask why they call it two steps.. the only thing I would offer to improve is to mix the menu up occasionally maybe introduce a fish of the week or something like plaice and to ditch the corporate factory produced pukka pies with real butchers produced good quality pies and maybe offer a cheese option grated or cheddar as chips cheese and gravy is a favourite of mine.. well worth a visit

We visited today on a Friday lunchtime, wasn’t as busy as I’d expected, a couple of people queuing outside. I previously visited sonetime ago, possibly years ago and remember the chips being the nicest id ever eaten in Sheffield so i did have high...expectations. Unfortunately the meal was nothing like I experienced years ago, i bought a fish meal with peas and sausage meal with curry, the sauces were seperate which was an extra per meal but i thought the meals were good value at each. The food wasn’t bad, but only as good as any other chippy where i live in Aston so not worth the extra miles, i would definitely not say it loves up to its best chippy in Sheffield status anymore, based on the food we had today. I’ve had much better in Sheffield, Shaws at Killamarsh is one of them.

Would give 0 stars, but its not possible on here. Where do I start? Found a hair in my fish, so I didn’t have chance to eat it- what a waste of money. Plus what made it worse was witnessing, who I presume was the...manager talking to his staff so rude, she looked like she was going to burst out crying! Not what you want to see when giving a business you’re money. Being a manager myself, I believe treating your staff with respect is the most important thing in a business, just a tip.

The best fish and chips by far! Very good quality, perfectly cooked and incredibly generous portion size. All items are competitively priced and the staff service and management attitude in resolving any issues are impeccable.

I travel a few miles to get to this chip shop. It is amazing staff and owner fab xx. Will not swap this chip shop for any other x
