Timpano Las Olas

I used to frequent this restaurant before the renovation, and it was great. Always loved their lunch special as well. But went in recently for a birthday and was severely disappointed by the food. Our server was great and the attendance to refills,cleaning the table, clearing plates was spot on. We started with the calamari and the whipped ricotta crostini. The calamari wasnothing special, but the crostini was toasted so much it was actually painful to bite into. For dinner we got the Cavatelli,Mafaldine, 16oz Boneless Ribeye, meatballs and mashed potatoes. Presentation was great and overall appearance looked like itwould be delicious, but it was quite the opposite. Cavatelli was good, but a little oily. I assume from the sausage. The Ribeyewas beyond subpar. For $64 and no sides I expected much better. Asked for medium rare and it came about medium plus. Noseasoning tasted at all. Just mediocre at best. Extremely disappointing for the price point. Just go to Mortons down the roadfor a good steak. Generally, if you go to a steak house and the sides are al la carte, they can be enough to share between atleast 2 people, but the portion of the $12 mashed potatoes was barely enough for 1. Meatballs were cold and small and servedwith a focaccia that did not taste fresh. The Mafaldine was the best item of the night and I do recommend this dish. We optedout of dessert and received the complimentary gelato for the birthday. I am almost positive it was Publix ice cream... Overall,I would probably never return as for a $300 dinner the food should have been better. I would consider coming for a Pasta dishONLY or possible happy hour where the discounted prices better reflect the quality of the food. Nice atmosphere, good service,NOT good food.

I suggest you go across the street to YOLO instead. Waited for our table to be ready with empty tables everywhere and a reservation. Best thing about the night was my dirty martini, props to the bartender. Server forgot to put in the burrataappetizer so our steaks came out first. The Cesar salad app was the largest dish on the table. The Ravioli is ONE SINGLE raviolion a bed of lettuce. None of the plates are built to share even though we were told they were. Sides were minuscule and had toorder more then 1 of each for a table of 3 girls. The burrata (cheese! finally came out with 2 pieces of bread, we?re 3 people?The rapini was undercooked tremendously and could be snapped in half. Extremely disappointed especially with how much we spentafter all that. I?ve been in the restaurant industry for 11 years and will not return MAYBE only to have a cocktail if I?m inthe mood to spend $20 a drink.

Amazing food and ambience. The steak was cooked to perfection. The whole branzino was rich, meaty and perfectly prepared. The radiatore truffle and king oyster mushroom complemented both of those entrees to a tee. Our server was friendly and courteous.Can't say enough about the recent renovation. This place is a gem! You'll drop $100 a person including a glass of wine for eachperson and the gratuity, but if price is not the point, you won't be disappointed!

The food was spectacular and we had an amazing time. Our waitress Cassandra was perfect and helped guide us through the menu and referred us to dishes we really enjoyed. She answered all questions we had with a sophisticated and polite manner. 10/10will eat here again.

Absolutely love the mussels! Had 3 orders! Service and atmosphere are amazing! Recommend making a reservation.
