"Nice atmosphere with a friendly welcome. Beer kept very well and large portions for lunch which was really nice and not expected, excellent value. The burger was very enjoyable with side salad, chips and beans (you could have had peas instead). We will be returning."

Invited a couple of family friends for food at the willow house as id heard ok things about it. The bar staff were friendly and served our drinks as any other bar staff would. I orded food. Starters Scotch egg, Halloumi and nachos. Starters were good, although only 3 pieces of halloumi on a bed of salad was disappointing. Now, the mains, we ordered a burger with cheese, loin of pork with crackling and the chicken supreme. For context, the chicken supreme should be stuffed with dried tomatoes, pesto and cheese with a pesto sauce, sounds delicious right? It came like a roast dinner, smothered in gravy, no pesto sauce, served with soggy left over vegetables and potatoes that had barely any potato left in them from being reheated also wrapped in fatty barley cooked bacon! No mention of bacon on the menu. I asked the waitress why it was served with gravy and not pesto sauce, she couldnt answer and told me that if i wasnt happy then they would do something else, great service again from the bar staff. I said, whatever is quickest, like a burger with cheese, so my meal was taken to the kitchen. A few minutes later, a gentleman comes out, im presuming a chef, although clothed like any other customer, approched our table and said... thats the way the food comes, so if you want something else, youll be charged again. I questioned why the chicken comes like a roast dinner as the menu says pesto sauce. He said that the pesto sauce is in the chicken. Basically the attitude of, if i didnt like it, go somewhere else. He said that he can make me some pesto gravy (woo eye roll) but i couldnt justify paying for another meal when the meal I ordered wasnt served as advertised. The customer service from that member of staff was awful. The food came back to the table and thought id try it, no matter how unappealing it looked. It was literally the gravy with some pesto stirred in it. It was unpleasent but knew complaining would obviously not do anything to help me. So had my couple of mouthfuls and left it. Service was awful from im presuming the chef. Such a shame as a quiet pub that could do with the customers treats them like that. I wouldve been better getting a kebab. I will avoid the place in future.

Stayed overnight at the Willow House. Met with wonderful hospitality and excellent bar staff. We stayed for an evening meal and all 4 in the party were impressed with the food served. Service was impeccable and this was also the case (after a VERY comfortable sleep) with breakfast served the next morning. Our chef (John) could not be more accommodating and every request was catered for and could not praise the breakfast enough. Will definitely stay whenever we are in this area and more than happy to recommend this great pub, restaurant, b&b to everyone

This lovely thatched pub/hotel was booked at the last minute…but what a pleasant surprise when we arrived! Clean and well equipped room, where we could have had a continual breakfast as everything was provided in our room, but we choose to have a hot breakfast in the restaurant. The breakfast was amazing. Staff very friendly and attended to our every need.

We were visiting family in Watton and needed somewhere to stay for one night. This hotel is lovely. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The continental breakfast in our room was just right. The main building dates back to 1556 but the rooms were in an annex. Highly recommended.
