Service without a smile, or any haste what-so-ever. I'm not sure just how big their kitchen is, but I do wonder whether they're kitted out to handle the amount of guests visiting; there's quite a few seats about the place, but it seems to take forever to actually get any food and there's practically always a very slow queue. For what it's worth, the food isn't bad, at least in terms of hot food and sandwiches; the cakes and tray bakes (for £3.50 each) are rather bland and look like they've been kicked about the floor somewhat, hardly enticing. Whilst I can also appreciate that young people would rather be doing other things than working, the staff here, all of which seem to be young just lack any sort of personality or mannerism. Who's doing the recruiting? Who's doing the customer service training? Is there any? It's a nice venue, right next to the canal/river, but based on the reviews here, and a few comments from other patrons I overheard on my visit, you can easily see why people don't rate this place very highly, which is a shame.
