Overnight stay at The Ship was great, room 24 had views across the Dee and as it was Novemebr 5th the evening sky was lit with a wide display of fireworks! A cool evening but the sash window opened wide which was a bonus. Traffic noise was not an issue in this room. A sound sleep on for me a comfortable bed. Plenty of hanging space with the wardrobe and bedside storage. The desk was functional with the tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was spacious with a shower so for those who like a bath this would not be the room for you. All clean and felt housekeeping was doing their job. Staff friendly and made to feel welcomed. We did not take any refreshments other than what was in the room so cannot comment on that. An enjoyable short stay but welcomed and we will return, the cost of the room comapred to taxi rides makes it very affordable. The following morning drove from the large carpark refreshed an happy.

I believe the pub has had a refurb …..it’s gorgeous, on the Parade on the Dee Estuary , the historic pub has been featured on TV programmes . The interior is nautical and stylish , the upstairs balcony is a wonderful space to sit outside , trendy contemporary furniture with patio heaters if necessary . We had the local blonde ale …..delicious…. Definitely bringing the family back for a meal , the food and menu looked delicious, my husband eyed up the crab linguine….. This is a stylish contemporary pub , lots of couples areas in alcoves…dogs welcome in the bar , lovely rooms upstairs and down , 5*

Sunday lunch is very poor. Vegetables consisted of half a carrot, 6 green beans, red cabbage which was tasteless, 4 small roast potatoes, 2 pieces of beef and a Yorkshire pudding!! The price is £17.50p definitely not worth that much. Desert was strawberry mousse!! This was £7.25p equally disappointing in price and quality.
