Visiting our sister, decided to try somewhere new, having exhausted a few eateries in the past. The reviews of The Seahorse Bar Grill sounded excellent. Booked a table, just in case! On arrival we were greeted warmly and felt most welcomed. Our table was...ready, drinks ordered which came quite quickly. John took our order and explained in great detail the menu, and stood patiently whilst we ordered, no pressure friendly banter. We ordered three different meals, all arrived together hot and beautifully cooked. The ribs which I ordered were superb. Chips, coleslaw, corn on the cob, salad, and three amazing prawns. He' ordered the belly of pork, roast, with a selection of veg. My sister ordered the cod which was chunky and also beautifully cooked. We opted for the Mango dessert and again could not fault it. My only problem/gripe' is this place is not local to us. Never mind we visit her regularly so be warned!

Invited here for a “big” birthday party event, though we were a small group. Interesting menu, attentive staff, who seemed genuinely interested in our thoughts. Food and drinks served promptly. Good quality, with some unusual dishes with a South African influence. Generous portions. Somewhat limited...choices for anyone vegetarian, but some of the veggie tapas were superb. Slight disappointment that the desserts were (as previously mentioned by diners) VERY heavily biased towards cheesecake and at felt expensive, both factors which put off some of our group and there was one comment to the effect that if there had been a more traditional pud, with custard, that would have been a real attraction. Notwithstanding this, we would return if we were to be in the area but would probably skip a dessert!

Good location, guinness was very good, service was attentive and food was good for typical pub grub. Good atmosphere for a Monday evening, a true locals pub supporting the community. Food was good, although a little on the slight side for a homemade burger and...chips. Well worth a visit if in the area.

Don't bother going there. They treat you really bad. We waited hours for our meal and they couldn't understand why we weren't happy. Because we left before getting our meal after waiting for hours we were told we were no longer welcome there.
