The Red House - Table reservation

booked on open table and the manager suggested we sit outside. when I ordered food, they said that if you sit outside and a tab you want to leave your card behind the bar. (In case I go without payment?) Bad policy. The drinks were at £5.75 for a Pint Peroni. Starter I ordered was not available, but I was not recommended until after I had ordered it and had set me for my meal. was nice and polite and attentive. Food was nothing special. Very disappointed. I'm not afraid.

There for Friday dinner. You said we could choose anywhere we like to sit, but if we chose a table in the restaurant immediately said that you don't!!! It was not reserved, so there was no reason to move us, but he set us the other end of the restaurant for reasons that are best known to him. Food was acceptable, but not fantastic. The prices were on the high side.

Good food, good atmosphere and good service. Using OpenTable we had requested a table in the bar but this was not available but we weren't told until we arrived. The manager suggested we should phone in future instead of using OpenTable.

I eat here often, mainly for lunch. There are many tables outside for a drink or al fresco food. Always a good reception and helpful service. Can recommend Steak
