Been on an off regular for a few years, chasing the excellently kept pints of OP but was tonight greeted, for the second time by the charmless and feckless local Adam sat at the bar, with his huge dog. First words out of his mouth as I walked in, was the back of a conversation in which he said I hate Pak*s . And it went downhill from there. My attempts to make chit chat were met with where are you from? , you 're not from around here , and I have never seen you before followed by a rapid escalation into brooding stare and constantly being 'offered out '. The entirely young bar staff seemed unable to cope and unwilling to stand up to the local character and it was indeed me that was asked to move, staggeringly despite witnesses confirmed he was doing nothing other than glaring at me and spoiling for a fight. Imagine my surprise when Adam finally left, having had one Stella or Carling too many and then kicked the f*ck out of my bike and wrecked the front wheel on the way out to which the barman then refused to call the police and said I should! Utterly, utterly inept. Beyond comprehension. One for the pantheon of worst pub visits ever . This one is up there and shan 't be returning. Racism is a criminal offence in the UK on the basis of what he was wittering on about when I arrived he should have been removed immediately for that alone. You going to pay for my wheel? Thought not. Unless the landlord and staff have ability to stand up to this awful local and regular who clearly can 't handle his Carling. I 'd steer well clear. Surely the money he puts through your till can 't be worth the charm in your bar?

Rapidly going downhill. If you want a drink on a sunny day then it’s ok. When I was there last some very drunk and stoned people turned up and were being obnoxious. They were smoking weed in the garden and the smell was coming into the pub. To be fair to the young bar staff they managed ok but the landlord who very occasionally drifts through should be doing something. As some previous reviewers have said there also seems to be a few knuckle dragging locals who think they own the place. Would be interesting for the police to breathalyse a few of them who get back in their cars after a few early evening pints. This pub has been great and has the potential to be a lot better than it currently is. I hope it doesn’t keep getting worse.

Came here for a swift pint with my parents, sister, auntie and cousin for my father's birthday. We had had a lovely walk along the canal beforehand. We sat in the lovely beer garden for our beverages. The staff were very nice and it was reasonably priced. Food looked nice so we might return for that!

Will not rush back, it used to be a cracking pub but it’s more like it’s just run for the owners mates, I have been in 3/4 times since Rob left and every time I have been ignored at the bar for a “local” As I say don’t go out of your way to visit
