The Pack Horse is an historic pub located in Pack Horse Yard in the city centre of Leeds that offer's an excellent beer range and also meals. Established in 1615 this is a very atmospheric pub and in my opinion a must go destination if you are interested in historic old pubs. The Pack Horse has a nice courtyard with superb seating options and is an ideal place to sample a few beers. The inside has lots of interesting item's related to the pub and at the front of the pub is a Templar Cross which shows that it was owned by the order of St John of Jerusalem the successors of the Knights Templar. This was without doubt one of the best pubs that we visited on our four day trip to Leeds and one I looked forward to visiting. On entry we gave our track and trace details and took our seat in the main bar area and as it's only table service one of the staff took our order of a few glasses of Birra Moretti brewery Pale ale that where well served and priced. The Pack Horse is an excellent pub and is without doubt a must go pub as its so historic (There may have been a pub on this site in the 1130s) it serves great beers and the staff are fantastic.Very easy to locate from Corn Exchange D bus stop its only a few minutes walk away.(This is my first review of the Pack Horse). Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-11.00-01.00. Hours May Differ From Above Due To The Covid 19 Restrictions. Nearest Bus Stop. Corn Exchange D bus stop.

I only nipped in the Pack Horse for a quick one, as it was bang near my hotel; but I stayed all evening because it drew me in. At first, I just sat in the back room watching football on a screen; but a good singer at the open mic night drew me out to the main room to listen, and I watched the rest of the singers while leaning on the bar. Standard was surprisingly good; and though at open mics the singers all know one another and form a bit of a clique, everyone was friendly, and I felt relaxed. The lady behind the bar was very pleasant despite struggling with a bad leg, and the landlord quite a character. All credit to them for making the effort to draw people into the pub: after all, this was a Monday. They also had a deal on called Cask Ale Monday : any cask ale for £2.75. A great idea and will help clear beer left over from the weekend. I think I drank Saltaire Blonde, Hobgoblin Gold, Old Peculier, and the like. The pub also does a quiz on Thursdays, a pie deal on Sundays, etc. The building itself has a lovely design, with a standout black-and-white tiled floor around the bar.

It may be the oldest pub in Leeds but inside it is all very modern including trendy fixtures and fittings. They serve delicious pies from pieminister they are not your average pie. Televisions do show sports but are not turned up loud to spoil anything.

Really nice place with a good atmosphere. The service from the staff is how it should be; friendly and efficient. My only whinge is the smell from the drains whilst drinking outside. Definitely worth a visit.
