with honor. visit date: 22. juli after the conclusion of our daughter in lancaster we had planned to call in another local restaurant for a fixed on the way back from the autobahn m62 (the turnpike). when we arrived there was a high time in full course, so we looked for a plan b and thought we would try the maypole, which is very close where we live and the reopened earlier this year. so glad we did we had starter: broccoli and parmesan suppe with a selection of fresh house made brot; aubergine and goat cheese packages; brot and oliven (to share). all delicious and well presented mains: huh filled with garlic mushrooms; crispy pork bauch on a...read more
great new beginning. this old favorite had seen a little tired of late, so we were thrilled when we returned to this weekend to find that it was completely renovated and what a renovation! it was transformed from an old, slightly tatty village alcohol (the did good food) to a beautiful, tastefully modern destination pub that makes great food. the young coworkers are excellently chatted, friendly and efficient and the manager has felt very welcome to us. they still hold an excellent drop of landlord and golden best (in which usually with another hoses or two) for the traditionalists! one visit.
Sellars/White household. on Sunday, 20 november, we sang on maypole. there were 6 adults and 4 children in our party when we arrived in the already busy pub. directly removed the employees sorted us a table and within 10 minutes we sat with our menus. the starters came out and were presented from this world, really delicious and very good. also for the children's meals, which was a nice one. the main thing also fantastic. that's somewhere we'll eat again soon. the cost of the meal were of very good value. well done. x
Deadly quiet, rude manager and poor food. Cooked well but poor quailty of meat that lacks flavour. Plenty of better places to eat in Halifax!
