After visiting another local distillery, the Cape May distillery was underwhelming. My husband and I stopped by on a Friday evening and it was quiet. There was just one staff member who was the bartender. We sat at a corner table near the bar, but she was mostly tending to the 4 patrons at the bar. They were discussing some local recommendations and generally making small talk. My husband went to the bar and picked spirits to taste including various rums, whiskey, and gin. As expected, the rums were the better options. I went with the blueberry mojito which was full on tarty and didn't have any sweet relief. I would ask for strawberries to be added if you like a sweeter drink. The blueberry rum and actual blueberries, which I believed were muddled, were too much for me. The larger room next to the bar had high top tables and lots of games. Just before we were heading out, a musician was setting up. Depending on your vibes and the time of day, this place could be what you're looking for.
